My scar is, of course, still visible under my right eye, but it's part of me now and I hardly ever think about the graft until I see it in photos like this. I'm 62 years old now. I recently had a couple of small areas on my other cheek "frozen" at the dermatologist. I suppose the skin on my cheekbones took the brunt of the sun over the years.
My husband had a small melanoma on his back which was found early (by me) and removed last winter. They had to cut quite deep and wide to be sure the margins were clear. The annual visits to our dermatologist will continue.
